The Fluke Networks OFP-100-QI OptiFiber Pro OTDR with quad module is a fiber optic cable tester with multimode and single-mode launch cables, ProjX management system, built-in VFL, a FiberInspector video probe, and accessories for verification, troubleshooting, certification, and inspection of multimode and single-mode fiber in enterprise networks. The OTDR (optical time-domain reflectometer) consists of a Versiv main unit and a quad (multimode and single-mode) OTDR module for checking connectivity, locating connections and faults, measuring loss and reflectance, providing pass/fail test results, and allowing Tier 2 certification. The quad module transmits multimode wavelengths of 850nm and 1,300nm for testing up to 40km of cabling and single-mode wavelengths of 1,310nm and 1,550nm for testing up to 130km of cabling. The ProjX management system allows the user to define project settings and tasks, and can be accessed from a computer via the meter's USB interface using the included LinkWare software to generate certification reports, analyze test results, and create charts and graphs detailing the performance of cabling infrastructure. The meter performs a Class F autotest in less than 25 seconds and a Category 6 autotest in less than 10 seconds. Testing includes shielded and unshielded twisted pair LAN cabling (STP, FTP, SSTP, and UTP), Category 6A/Class EA permanent link adapters, and Category 6/Class E channel adapters. The meter includes one main unit, one smart remote, one set of DTX-MFM2 multimode fiber modules, one set of DTX-SFM2 single-mode fiber modules, one set of DTX-OTDR-QMOD compact OTDR modules, and instructions for activating one year of Fluke Networks' Gold Support, which covers repairs, calibration, and technical support. OTDR Launch and tail cords let the tester measure the loss and reflectance of the first and last connectors in the cabling and also include them in the measurement of overall loss. Without launch and tail cords, no backscatter is available before the first connector nor after the last. Fluke Networks recommends that you use launch and tail cords when making an OTDR measurement. You should also use the launch/tail cord compensation function to remove the lengths of these fibers from the OTDR measurements. The tail cord used should have the same characteristics as the OTDR launch cord.

OptiFiber Pro SmartLoop OTDR enables automated testing and analysis of two fibers in a single test. This process automatically separates the two fibers for individual pass/fail analysis, display, and reporting. Not only does this cut the testing time by at least half, it also enables bi-directional testing without moving the OTDR to the far end. In addition to getting the job done quicker, SmartLoop OTDR further enhances the ease and speed of testing in environments where the far end is difficult or even dangerous to reach because the OTDR never has to be moved to the far end.
