This pine derby wedge car kit includes a pre-cut Official BSA wedge car block with pre-drilled axle slots so you can easily insert your axles without any tools. Your axles will be perfectly straight. The block also includes a pre-drilled optional raised wheel hole (front left wheel), so you can raise one wheel for added speed (be sure your rules allow raising a wheel!). The kit includes stock (unaltered) Official BSA wheels and stock (unaltered) BSA axles.Also included is a free Speed Boat decal sticker that includes Numbers and cool USA colored ribbon stripes.
As an added bonus, this kit includes paintable plastic race car parts, including left and right header pipes, an engine block, engine hood scoop/blower, roll bars and a race car driver helmet.
Kit Notes: This is a basic car kit with untreated stock nails that are used for axles. Stock nails have imperfections during manufacturing such as burrs and crimp marks on the underside of the head, shaft and point. These imperfections will grind up the plastic in your wheels if not removed.
You should plan to use a small file and sandpaper to prep these axles or consider purchasing Polished Axles to replace the stock axles.
Speed Notes To race this car, you will need to add weights (come in various shapes and sizes) to bring your car up to 5.0 ounces and you will need to lubricate the axles by using PRO Graphite or NyOil. Weights and Lubricants are sold separately.
